No Surprises Act

Effective 1/01/2022 patients are protected by the No Surprises Act which protects patients against surprise billing and limits out-of-network cost sharing. Typically, surprise billing occurs when a person requires emergency services (ambulance or emergency room visit) and the hospital or medical provider may not be in-network with the patient’s insurance.

To stay compliant with the Act, Brightmore Physical Therapy will always give a non-insured or out-of-network patient a written good faith estimate for cost for services before services begin (or as soon as we are notified that the patient is non-insured/out-of-network). In order to avoid any billing problems, our billing staff will continue to request your insurance coverage details and verify insurance coverage prior to your initial visit. We review patient insurance coverage with the patient at the first visit. We can only report benefits as quoted to us by your insurance company.
